Excel COUNTIF function — count cells that meet a condition

COUNTIF counts the cells that meet a condition — for example how many employees sold 100 or more.

Syntax

COUNTIF(range, criteria)

Arguments

range
The range to count.
criteria
The condition: ">=100", "Baku", "<>" (not empty) or a cell.

Example

Count the employees with sales of 100 or more.
